YouTube Music inherited Google’s legacy music streaming called Google Play Music and has been steadily improving ever since. In order to be able to continue to exist against Apple Music, Spotify and Co., a beta program called “Listening Room” is now being launched (via 9to5google). This should give selected users the opportunity to try out new functions in a timely manner and give direct feedback to the developers. You would like to use the “Listening Room” on Discord for this.

If you are interested in taking part, you can Google form to complete. But there are a few prerequisites:

  • You are a music lover
  • Use YouTube Music as your primary music streaming service for one year (you can continue to use another music streaming service)
  • Provide regular feedback through conversations and polls on Discord
  • You agree NOT to share any information, ie take screenshots, images or recordings of any conversations or early features with anyone outside of the Discord group

You get a free year of YouTube Music Premium for participating, timely access to the features mentioned above, and the opportunity to significantly influence the future of YouTube Music. In February they would like to contact the selected candidates with further information.
