MIAMI.- The actor Zac Efron reveal his star in the Hall of Fame of Hollywood, in a ceremony in which his artistic career was celebrated. At the meeting, the 36-year-old performer was accompanied by his family, friends and castmates from his new film The Iron Claw.

Efron rose to fame in 2006, when he played Troy Bolton in the Disney hit High School Musical, becoming a teenage idol of the first decade of the 2000s. Later, he participated in the musical that was brought to the big screen Hairspray in 2007; and was maintained in the next two installments of High School Musical.

Other titles also include 17 Again, Me and Orson WellesOrson Welles, Charlie St. Cloud, New Year’s Eve, Neighbors, Dirty Grandpa, Neighbors 2: Sorority, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, The Disaster ArtistThe Disaster, Baywatch, The Greatest Showman, among other.

During the meeting, Efron was grateful and honored by what recognition means to every artist. Likewise, he stated that it was surreal to see himself living in the moment.

“I never imagined this in my wildest dreams, it’s crazy. (…) I realize how incredibly lucky I have been in the last 20 years of my life. I have been blessed by the most talented and creative people” , he stated, while thanking his family, friends and followers for all the support they have given him.

“What an honor. I want to thank everyone who attended today (…). It was a truly humbling moment for me surrounded by those I love,” he wrote on Instagram.

Likewise, Efron took advantage of the moment to pay tribute to Matthew Perrywho died on October 28, and with whom he shared in 17 Again.

“I want to thank someone who is no longer here today, Matthew Perry, who was very kind and generous to me. (…) Collaborating with him over the last few years was a lot of fun and he really pushed and motivated me in many ways that took my career to another level,” he commented before unveiling his star.

Together they starred in the 2009 film, where they played Mike O’Donnell, a man who returned to the past to change his life and win back his wife.

The actor, singer and dancer described as “surreal” the experience of receiving a tribute that he considered to be a “true Hollywood tradition,” and dedicated his entire speech to thanking his family, friends and followers, who have accompanied him in his career.

Zac Efron’s new film, The Iron Claw, premieres on December 22 and tells the story of professional wrestler Kevin Von Erich and his family.
