Arresto.

Authorities announced the arrest of a third young man in the case of the death in a subway station in the Bronx of a passenger who was a Mexican immigrant.

The detainee is a 15-year-old boy, who has been charged with murder, attempted murder (5 counts) and criminal possession of a second-degree weapon, according to the police report.

Police had already arrested two other teenagers in the case.

The incident happened on February 12 in a Line 4 car that arrived at the Mount Eden Avenue station.

Apparently there was a shootout between two groups of young people and a stray bullet hit the user Obed Beltrán Sánchez, 35 years old. There were also four other injuries.

Beltrán would later die in the hospital. The immigrant, a construction worker and originally from Tehuacán, Puebla, leaves behind his wife and two daughters.

After his death there were efforts from the Mexican consulate in New York and from the Mexican Foreign Ministry itself to help in the transfer of Beltrán Sánchez’s remains to Mexico.

On social networks, a man from The Bronx published a post in which he stated that he was at the place where the shooting took place and lamented the death of Beltrán Sánchez.
