Dago, the Cuban boy friend of Yotuel and Alexander, dies: "You fought like a champion"

The Cuban boy Dagoberto Jesús Veliz Garcíawhom Alexander Delgado and Yotuel paid him a surprise visit at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital from Miami last November, died on Friday.

“RIP Dago, rest in peace. You fought like a champion,” Yotuel expressed in his profile. Facebookalong with a video of the minor in the hospital.

“I carry you with me in every memory and in every sigh, knowing that our connection transcends earthly borders. I miss you, I love you and I honor you in every thought and in every beat of my heart. You will always live in my soul like a little guardian angel” , he added.

In November, the teenager shared a story on his Instagram profile where he was seen in his hospital bed enjoying the music of Gente de Zona, and in it he tagged the accounts of the group and its members.

Hours later, Alexander and Yotuel went to the health center to see him.

“Oh, my God! Ahhhh, that can’t be,” was the reaction of the patient, visibly moved.

The artists enjoyed the boy, who declared himself an artist in his Instagram description, and his family.

The former member of Orishas asked for good vibes for the recovery of Dagoberto, who declared himself an “artist” on his networks.

“Dear Dago, I know you are going through a difficult time, but I want you to know that you are not alone. You are strong and capable of overcoming any adversity. Trust in yourself, in God and remember that time heals all wounds. I am here to support you every step of the way. Cheer up, friend! We will soon record the song,” Yotuel wrote.

For his part, the director and singer of Gente de Zona pointed out that for him “it was an honor to go see this warrior.”

“Thank you for your love and for your joy. Strength, champion,” he wished him.

The cause of Dago’s admission was not revealed in any publication.

Nicklaus Children’s Hospital also shared an emotional message on its Instagram profile.

“Thank you, Alexander and Yotuel, for sharing a moment of joy with Dagoberto and his family, and for the strength you gave him to move forward,” the text reads.

One month after, Yotuel announced that he had made a song for the young man.

“We made your song my champion. God worked and we will achieve it. It will be a success,” he stressed then.
