Specific, The sovereigntist coalition has already been closing the gap with the Jeltzales since the last regional elections, in which it came in second position with 106,027 votes.only 3,527 ballots from the PNV.

Months later, in the call for general elections in July, EH Bildu was the winner in the Territory after collecting 117,321 votes, well above the PNV, with 87,709 ballots, which came in third place, after the PSE, for which 85,026 Gipuzkoans voted. .

He PNV has usually been the first force in Gipuzkoa. It remained a hegemonic force also in 2001 and 2005, –in elections in coalition with EA– and later in 2016 and 2020. However, the party now led by Andoni Ortuzar was only surpassed in Gipuzkoa in 1986 by EA — whose victory dropped him to fourth place– and by EH Bildu in 1990, 1994, 1998 and 2012.
