$10,000 worth of work tools stolen from Waltham man

Waltham, Massachusetts police are on alert after a series of suspicious incidents in the city where people search for cars that have been left unlocked.

Surveillance footage shows an incident, in which a man apparently looks into cars and pulls on door handles. The video was captured last Saturday in the Bleachery neighborhood.

One victim said that $10,000 worth of tools was recently stolen from the back of his work truck. She expects a quick arrest.

“Someone has to pay for that,” Jackson de Oliveira said. “We’re all here trying to make a living and people come in and steal things, it’s not fair.”

Waltham Police are reminding people to lock their car doors. It’s also a good idea to avoid leaving valuables in plain sight in a car.

Mark Sullivan said he always makes sure to lock his car doors.

“Sometimes I have things in there, valuables, tapes, CDs and things like that,” Sullivan said. “It’s a bit scary, crime seems to be everywhere right now.”
