NY.- President Biden is about to make the final decision to formally enter the 2024 presidential race and will do so as soon as Tuesday, the video to announce his run is in production, according to four people with knowledge of his plans. .

Biden, who said last week while in Ireland that he would enter the race “relatively soon,” will spend the weekend at Camp David, expected to be accompanied by family members and a few advisers.

It has not yet given final approval for the announcement of that plan, according to a person with knowledge of the matter.

The New York Times reported Monday that Biden was discussing making the announcement in a single video on Tuesday of next week, which will be the fourth anniversary of his entry into the 2020 race.

One of Biden’s favorite poems, which he has often quoted, is about “making history and rhyming with hope.”

On Thursday, The Washington Post reported that plans for next week’s announcement were being finalized, with a Tuesday date.

Karine Jean Pierre, White House Press Secretary, declined to comment Thursday afternoon via text message.

In a press release he made earlier this day, he told reporters: “What I will tell you is that any announcement or anything related to 2024 is certainly not going to come out of here.”

The Democratic National Committee did not respond to a request for comment on the matter.

At 80, Biden is the oldest president in US history and at the end of his potential second term, he would be 86.

The political durability of the leading Republican candidate, former President Donald J. Trump, has increased Biden’s ability to maintain a coalition of Democrats, including progressives who have sometimes disagreed with some White House policies.
