The 17-member climate advisory board has started its work in the Lichtenberg town hall. It supports the implementation of the Lichtenberg energy and climate program until 2026. There was a great deal of interest, which is why further thematic climate working groups are being set up.
District mayor Martin Schaefer (CDU): “I would like to thank the members of the Lichtenberg climate advisory board and the climate working groups for their willingness to contribute their extensive expertise.” He is very happy about the top-class cast. City Councilor for the Environment Filiz Keküllüoglu (Greens) also thanked her and added that she was very excited about the impulses.
Chair of the Council is yet to be elected
The advisory board consists of people aged 12 to 75 from almost all of Lichtenberg’s districts. The members had applied last year following an appeal and were selected by a jury. Next, the Advisory Board elects a chair and adopts rules of procedure. The district office did not disclose the names of the people.
He receives support from a support group consisting of administration, district office and district politics. A personnel position will be set up for the office of the advisory board at the district climate protection officer.
