Mexico City.- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador acknowledged that two Canadian mining companies have claimed extortion from criminal groups in Guerrero.

During the morning, the federal President said that they are already dealing with these cases.

“I told the Canadians that there are 125 Canadian mining companies and we only have problems in two and they are also right, that they are extorted in Guerrero, by groups that are dedicated to crime, but we are already attending to them, but only two,” Lopez Obrador said.

The President also stated that they have already resolved four problems with Canadian companies in the electricity sector, at the request of Prime Minister Trudeau.

“Yesterday I was with businessmen from Canada who had some disagreements, now that Prime Minister Trudeau came, he asked me if we would attend to them and personally with the economic cabinet we attended to four Canadian companies and we resolved the four problems without any obstacles, which had to do with issues of the electricity sector and we did so with American companies and we always seek conciliation,” he said.
