Only on Tuesday evening did it become known that BVB had signed Julian Ryerson from league competitor Union Berlin to replace the injured Thomas Meunier. But the Norwegian should not remain the only new signing from Dortmund. BVB is said to have looked around in the Premier League and found what they were looking for.

Dortmund wants to strengthen the offensive

After BVB brought Ryerson from Berlin for five million euros, the Westphalians could now even be active again on the transfer market.

As the English radio station Talksport reported, they should included have their eye on Anthony Elanga in particular.

The 20-year-old Swede has made 13 appearances for Manchester United this season. Because coach Erik ten Haag relies primarily on Marcus Rashford, Anthony and also young star Alejandro Garnacho on the wing positions. Last season, the Swede made regular appearances and scored eight goals and five assists in all competitions.

But this season it’s not going well at all. Elanga has so far only played as a substitute and has played just 392 minutes.

In Dortmund he could provide additional speed on the outside positions. There, summer newcomers Karim Adeyemi and Donyell Malen have so far disappointed. With his qualities in one-on-one duels, he could enrich BVB’s offensive game.

BVB: Elange should come on loan

However, the offensive star with an estimated market value of 25 million euros and a contract term until 2026 is probably too expensive for Dortmund. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano it is therefore primarily an option for the black and yellow to loan the Swede.

However, it could stand in the way of BVB that Elanga is also in demand within the Premier League. Both AFC Bournemouth and Everton FC are said to have expressed an interest in the 20-year-old. However, according to Romano, Elanga’s priority is BVB.

Manchester United could refuse transfer to BVB

A “no” to the change from the Red Devils could also become a problem. According to the expert, winger Facundo Pellistri also wants to go and has already received some offers. It is unlikely that both players will be allowed to leave the club. Only Elanga’s market value, which is estimated to be significantly higher, and the loan option could now help him get more playing time in Dortmund.

Meanwhile, BVB is facing another major upheaval in the summer. As sports director Sebastian Kehl announced in September, the club will not extend the contract with some of its professionals. According to “Sport Bild”, these include Felix Passlack, Raphaël Guerreiro, Anthony Modeste, Nico Schulz, Emre Can and Thorgen Hazard, whose contracts expire this summer or next.
