Of the people handed over to the INM, he specified, 23 of them are of Venezuelan nationality and four are from El Salvador, in addition to the fact that among them are four families and eight adults who were traveling alone.

“In accordance with the provisions of Article 112 of the Migration Law, the family nuclei will be channeled to the Office of the Attorney for the Protection of Children and Adolescents, which will house them in the Social Assistance Center that it designates,” the INM specified in a statement.

Regarding adults, he said, as established in Article 52 of the Migration Law, they will be granted a Visitor Card for Humanitarian Reasons.

These actions, he said, were carried out on April 8, where consular authorities from El Salvador were present, who spoke with their compatriots and with the immigration authorities.

On April 6, authorities from the states of San Luis Potosí and Guanajuato released 35 migrants who were deprived of their liberty and who were trying to reach the United States.

The authorities then affirmed that these people could be part of a group of people denounced as kidnapped on April 4 and that at first it had been said that they were tourists.

This Sunday, the INM affirmed that it continues to communicate with the corresponding federal and state authorities to collaborate and provide the necessary care, support and assistance to foreign victims of crime.

And he pointed out that he is waiting for what the state prosecutor’s office determines “regarding other foreigners and thus the institute will help as far as the immigration situation is concerned.”
