Things are getting clearer for the fifth season of Formula 1: Drive to Survive. Netflix has indeed formalized a release date for the documentary series sequel. We will therefore have to wait until February 24 to watch the new episodes of this original creation.

Combining business with pleasure, the service took the opportunity to unveil a new trailer. True to its tradition, the production should continue to amaze us. And if you’re not familiar with Formula 1, here are 3 good reasons to let yourself be tempted, and to rewatch the previous seasons.
A series behind the scenes of Formula 1
This is one of the great strengths of this series, it is quite possible to watch without knowing anything about motorsport. It immediately takes us behind the scenes of F1. We follow with passion the daily life of the pilots, their meticulous preparation. We discover this demanding discipline, where the race is only one of the highlights.
Drive to Survive shows us behind the scenes, the strategic meetings that determine a large part of the results. One thing is certain: it is an addition of small details that end up making the difference.
The suspense and the tension at the rendezvous
Formula 1: Drive to Survive is beautifully done. It is therefore with great interest that we follow the drivers and their teams throughout the season. Even when you already know the results, it’s an opportunity to relive the races in another way with very great moments of tension.
Each Grand Prix has its adrenaline rush and strong emotions. We think in particular of departures rich in uncertainties, overtaking which can quickly turn into drama, small piloting errors which risk going wrong. But the series is also wonderfully able to capture the outpouring of joy that comes with great victories, and the tragedy of road accidents.
A human series
This is the other great strength of the series. The spectator of the Grands Prix only knows the names and faces of the pilots. Drive to Survive showcases their personalities. Some have very atypical backgrounds, others are more or less endearing.
We appreciate to follow these speeches sometimes inspiring (other times annoying) of these men. Formula 1 turns this motor sport into a living myth. The concept worked so well that it inspired other Netflix series on cycling, rugby, and tennis, as we explained to you previously.
