301 people die every 24 hours from drug overdoses in the US

WASHINGTON (appro)

The historical lethal statistics show that due to addiction to the consumption of synthetic drugs made with fentanyl, among the 50 states of the United States, every 24 hours, 301 people lose their lives as a result of an overdose of narcotics.

Last May, the CDC released the preliminary numbers of overdose deaths during the past year, which at that time was estimated at 105,452 people. When updating the statistics, the federal government added another 4,548 deaths to the initial calculation.

Despite the fact that the government of President Joe Biden assures that it maintains an unwavering policy to stop the flow of synthetic drugs and fentanyl that runs uninterrupted in the 50 states, the CDC figures corroborate its failure in the field.

Obsessed for decades with focusing efforts to combat international drug trafficking cartels like the Mexican ones, the US federal government neglects what is essential, addressing the drug addiction of its population as a health and education problem.

The failure of the war against drugs in Washington is not only reflected in the unstoppable increase in overdose deaths, now in the United States the gringo or domestic cartels have taken over control over the transportation, distribution and sale of narcotics.

As part of its update on the grim statistics, the CDC reported the discovery of another factor in the causes of overdose deaths; the combination of synthetic drugs made with fetanyl with cocaine and heroin.

Despite the fact that opioids manipulated with fentanyl are currently the illegal drug with the greatest demand, the CDC notes that in the last year the demand and use of cocaine has increased significantly again.

Added to the surprising figure of 301 daily deaths from an overdose with drugs manufactured with fentanyl, the CDC emphasizes that due to this situation, the United States also suffers from another problem; more violence in the streets due to the dispute over the black drug market.

The domestic cartels that buy synthetic drugs made with fentanyl in bulk from their Mexican counterparts are in violent disputes with each other to seize the infrastructure for the sale of drugs in the cities and towns of all 50 states.

In its report to update the numbers of deaths from overdose in 2022, the CDC adds that the variation in mortality in the consumption of “goofballs” (silly balls, in Spanish) than the nickname that the lethal drug made with fentanyl and cocaine has on the black market.
