3DMark leaks offer clues about the performance of the Radeon RX 7700 and RX 7800

The truth is that we had little information about the upcoming mid-range graphics cards from AMD based on Navi 32, I’m talking about the Radeon RX 7700 and RX 7800, and now we find out that they are almost about to be released. Although the date of its release has not yet been officially confirmed, the first performance leaks have emerged.

A Korean leaker by the name of All_The_Watts!! has leaked performance results for both graphics cards using 3DMark’s Time Spy. Although the equipment or the version of the drivers used in these tests have not been revealed, the results offer a rough idea of how these new graphics solutions from AMD will compare.

It is important to mention that the Radeon RX 7700 and RX 7800 are being referred to without any designation, but it is assumed that they are the same graphics cards mentioned above, that is, with the XT. It is unlikely that AMD will have four graphics cards ready for launch.

According to these filtered results, the Radeon RX 7700 or RX 7700 XT will compete with the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, although there will be significant differences in other aspects. The Radeon is expected to feature 12GB of VRAM, while the RTX 4060 Ti will either have 8GB or 16GB depending on which variant is being compared. In addition, the bus and bandwidth also differ considerably, with 468 GB/s for the Radeon. versus 288 GB/s for both GeForce 4060 Tis.

Radeon RX 7700 and RX 7800

On the other hand, the Radeon RX 7800 or RX 7800 XT will go up against the current GeForce RTX 4070, and while they appear to be very close on the Time Spy test, they also have significant technical differences. While the NVIDIA option has 504 GB/s bandwidth and 12 GB of VRAM, it is estimated that the supposed Radeon RX 7800 will have a bandwidth of 624 GB/s and 16 GB of VRAM.

The differences compared to the Radeon RX 6700 and 6800 are not that great. It seems that AMD will continue to bet on offering higher bandwidth and VRAM memory than the competition (with the exception of the 16 GB RTX 4060 Ti). However, it will be necessary to evaluate the actual performance in games to determine the value of future AMD offerings.

While the gap between the RX 7700 and RX 7800 isn’t very wide, there is a noticeable difference between the RX 7600 and RX 7900 XT, leaving room for a possible Radeon RX 7600 XT and Radeon RX 7900 in the future. .
