The first trailer for the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is just over two minutes long, with most of the time devoted to the animals of the forest. In the teaser, we see little about the game and nothing of the gameplay. 5. The ultimate weapon (of the time)
One detail speaks against this theory, however. In the background during the kite’s flight, we can see one of the main threats of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, albeit quickly. In the distance, another moment straight from the original game is referenced when we see the Shagohod being transported by three military helicopters.
It’s a direct nod to the end of the first act of the original, when Naked Snake, injured, watches the nuclear tank being driven away from a research base in the region. The autonomous tank carried a nuclear warhead and could move at high speeds, serving as an important weapon — and provocation — during the height of the Cold War.
It is also worth mentioning that Shagohod is considered one of the forerunners of the Metal Gear project, which gives its name to the entire franchise. Although it is more like a traditional war tank, it was its development that gave rise to the machines that would later get in the way of Solid Snake and represent a global threat.
4. Animals are food, not friends
The name of the game already says: in Metal Gear Solid 3, one of the central elements of Snake is food. Sent alone and with little equipment to a distant forest, the character needs to manage to get weapons, heal his wounds and, above all, keep his stomach full, since no spy can act without a good lunch.
With the exception of ants, all other animals seen in the trailer can become food in the hands of the player, who needs to be careful with poisons, such as the frog that appears in the video, and other environmental elements. The crocodile seen in the video is also the centerpiece of one of the protagonist’s disguises, a hat that allows him to hide under water like a wild animal.

Players’ attention was drawn to the decision to change the game’s nomenclature in this reimagining. Even though everyone refers to the ad as the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, Konami decided to change the numeral to a Delta symbol, while retaining the Snake Eater subtitle. It’s the same game, but also an indicator of something new.
The explanation about this came later, through social networks. In the official profile of the franchise, Konami clarified that the meaning of Delta is related to the concept of this remake, symbolizing changes or differences without the original structure being modified. There are those who also point to the three sides of the triangle as an indicator that this is, again, the third game in the saga.
1. White and then red petals
Artistic symbolism is one of the main hallmarks of the work of Hideo Kojima, creator of Metal Gear. In one of the most iconic images of the franchise, who knows even in the history of games, the final battle between Naked Snake and his mentor, The Boss, takes place in a field of white flowers, which are dyed red by the blood of combat.
Such elements also briefly appear towards the end of the teaser, when the title’s Delta explodes to display the rapidly changing color petals. In the background, Snake Eater, by Cynthia Harrell, the classic theme from Metal Gear Solid 3 and another clear inspiration in the classic James Bond films.
