A desperate situation was experienced this afternoon by the residents of the Nuevo neighborhood of the town of Florentino Ameghino. It is that a house caught fire completely and using buckets they were able to prevent the fire from advancing towards the other houses, which are very close to each other.

According to the same residents of the neighborhood, it happened shortly before 3:00 p.m. and although the Oberá firefighters were repeatedly called, the delay in arriving (there are around 15 kilometers between the two towns) put the closest buildings at risk.

In this context and without thinking about the risks, they searched for buckets, bins and prevented the fire from advancing, although they could not save the damaged house in which a mother lives with five minor children and the mother (grandmother of the boys). , which is under your care.

The damage was total, so the victim, Lidia Da Silva, along with her children, twins aged 15 and 17, as well as a 4-year-old and the elderly woman, kept what they were wearing.

The owner of the house and one of the boys had to be hospitalized because they suffered burns on their faces and arms when rescuing the boy who was in one of the rooms and the old woman. At that point, the neighbors again showed solidarity because they had to transfer the injured to the Oberá hospital in a private vehicle due to the lack of responses from the Ameghino Police, they regretted.

In the obereño hospital, although they are out of danger, they will remain under preventive observation. In the Nuevo neighborhood, meanwhile, the neighborhood operation began so that the affected family can, as soon as possible, have a place to live and in this sense they await the reaction of the mayor Mario Konopka, who is already aware of what happened.

Parallel to that, a solidarity campaign was started to collect donations for those affected, from furniture, beds, mattresses, wardrobes, to utensils, kitchen items, clothing and non-perishable food. People who are in a position to collaborate can contact Rocío Da Silva (Lidia’s daughter) at 3755-505551 or make cash donations to CBU 0000003100089380798745.
