A new mod for Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 adds to its catalog as playable characters two of Spider-Man’s favorite villains. It is about Venom and Carnage, the two emblematic symbiote villains of the series.

Venom has had a long list of appearances in video games, from those focused on spider-man even the Marvel vs. Capcom. Venom was playable in every game in this crossover series except for Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and was only added as DLC in Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite after its release, but this mode solve this.

Thanks to recent advances made in the modding community for the game, it has been possible to create custom character mods after overcoming the limitations built into the game. This has given rise to what is known as mode pallet swapping Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3which uses the existing character costume slots in the catalog and replaces them with all-new characters.

This has made characters like Thanos, Ultron, and Asura playable by substituting for the suits of Mike Haggar, Frank West, and Iron Man, respectively. These mods do the same, adding to the aforementioned Venom and Carnage.

This mod has been created by CaliKingz01, and they have posted a launch trailer for this mod to celebrate the new year. This trailer begins with gameplay of Carnage, with the theme song from his debut video game, spider-man and Venom: Maximum Carnage for nostalgia.

The models and voice clips are reused from Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, and both the normal and Omega variants of Carnage are playable with this mod.
