A brutal case of gender violence shakes the city of Berisso and although it occurred at the end of last January, it came to light in recent weeks when the victim of the savage attack was encouraged to tell what had happened. Despite the threats from her ex-partner, the victim managed to recount the nightmare she was experiencing and that is how the authorities found out about the case, which is already a matter of investigation.
According to the account of the 38-year-old woman, It all started on January 23, when she had an argument with her last boyfriend and he doused her with alcohol and set her on fire, causing serious burns over a large part of her body.. The attacker himself was the one who took her to the hospital and there threatened her so that she would not tell anything about what happened, assuring that if she did, “she was going to kill her children.”
The victim reported that the man even returned days later to the health center and reiterated the violent threats. Frightened, the woman even decided to lie to her mother and told her that she was going to be away for several days because she had gotten a job caring for the elderly, but several days later she revealed the truth and explained that she was still hospitalized because of of the attack.
Alarmed, the victim’s mother notified the authorities and UFI No. 13 began an arduous investigation to determine how the events occurred. Meanwhile, Family Court No. 6 is evaluating for these hours imposing a perimeter restriction measure while the investigation progresses.
