Recharging your batteries, learning new languages, discovering new dishes… These are all reasons that push the French to consider new destinations for their summer holidays in 2023. In this wake, the travel comparator Liligo, in collaboration with the polling institute OpinionWay, have highlighted the trends and desires of the French in terms of travel.

According to this recent study, the French who show a desire to travel during the summer of 2023 are more numerous than those of last year. Whether you want to opt for a destination deemed essential by tour operators, or treat yourself to a trip sheltered from mass tourism, destinations outside France are among those favored for the summer of 2023.

Morocco in the Top 10 of the favorite destinations of the French for the summer of 2023, but not Algeria

In addition, to illustrate the travel trends for the next summer season, Liligo and OpinonWay have drawn up the list of the favorite destinations of the French for summer 2023. This is a selection of 10 destinations which is as follows:

  • Montreal in Canada;
  • Ajaccio in France;
  • Lisbon in Portugal;
  • Porto au Portugal ;
  • Bastia in France;
  • Marrakesh in Morocco;
  • Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe in France;
  • New York in the United States;
  • Athens in Greece;
  • Bangkok in Thailand.

As you can see, France occupies three places among the favorite destinations of its people. Indeed, 64% of French people have planned to stay in their country to spend the summer holidays there in 2023. On the Maghreb side, only Morocco stands out in this selection. Algeria and Tunisia are not among the destinations favored by the French for the summer of 2023.

Spring 2023: mainland France, Algeria and Tunisia lead in dry flight sales

In another study by the tour operator Bourse des vols, Algeria, Tunisia, but also mainland France are among the destinations that have recorded an increase in sales of dry flights. Indeed, data from this tour operator reveals an increase in sales of medium-haul flights to Algeria and Tunisia compared to 2019.

According to Flight Exchanges, the sales activity of dry flights increased by 27% in March 2023. On the other hand, in terms of price searches, Italy and Morocco are at the top of this list.
