A young missionary died yesterday in a traffic accident that took place on the international route CH-257, in Tierra del Fuego, in Chilean territory. The fatal victim was identified as Ernesto Joaquín Perié (27).
As reported The Southern Press, Perié was traveling as a companion to the driver of a Renault Duster van. The tragedy broke out at kilometer 125 of the aforementioned road, in the China Creek sector, some 50 kilometers from the San Sebastián border crossing.
Two people were traveling in the truck, their destination was the city of Río Grande, province of Tierra del Fuego. The circumstances surrounding the fatal rollover are being investigated.
The driver was transferred with injuries to the Cerro Sombrero Clinic, while the companion ceased to exist inside the truck, after being hit by a trucker’s sign located in a curved area.
