A mother is accused of child abuse after being caught on video assaulting her two children

Cynthia Quick, 46, is behind bars after being arrested Monday at a Miami-Dade library in connection with an indictment of aggravated child abuse and assault for an incident of domestic violence, authorities confirmed.

The defendant was already serving house arrest for another case when she was captured for an incident of child abuse that according to documents occurred on May 6 with her children.

According to the arrest report, authorities were alerted to the alleged assault by Cynthia Quick. Court documents indicate that video evidence shows how the defendant hit her son multiple times in the head and also pushed him against a sofa that appears to suffocate him.

Police say the footage shows the woman’s daughter frightened and rocking unnaturally in a chair… terrified of the effect of what was happening. Everything would have broken out in a West Miami apartment complex.

The father of the minors confirmed by phone that the children are fine but that this would not have been the only incident that the little ones experienced with their mother, he also expressed his displeasure with the department of children and families.

The woman remains under arrest in the TGK county jail and if she pays her bond, she would return to house arrest. However, she must stay away from the minors who are currently staying with her father.
