With its release well set on February 28, 2023, Eclipse will try to do at least as well as The Witch Queen, the previous expansion which already had more than a million pre-orders a month before its release. To maintain the flame of a community which is about to enter its 6th year of service, Eclipse has a few arguments, in particular the change of scenery offered by Neptune, the new destination of this chapter. And more precisely the fluorescent city of Néomuna, whose players will survey the futuristic skyscrapers by means of a grappling hook (gift of the new doctrine of darkness: the dark thread). On Neomuna, the resistance will be organized with the Cloudwalkers, a people that the Guardians will try to defend against the traditional ugly and pretentious alien invader.

Remember that this extension of the year 2023 will be the last step before the grand finale which will take place in 2024 in Destiny 2: Final Form. Please note, we are talking here about the grand finale of the “Saga of Light and Darkness” and not the conclusion of Destiny 2, which Bungie clearly does not intend to abandon despite the other big secret projects in preparation in the studio, which is now working hand in hand with Sony Interactive Entertainment. Among these projects, a rumor speaks of a resurrection of the Marathon franchise in the form of a Tarkov-like, namely an FPS of extraction, but with teams of three players.
