TRAGIC ACCIDENT. A bus fell into the Lérez river in northwestern Spain and killed five people, including a Peruvian who worked in the town of Galicia when an elderly man was killed. The mayor of the Pontevedra City Council of Cerdedo-Cotobade, Jorge Cubela, regretted the event and described it as “an unmitigated tragedy”.

According to ‘El Mundo’, the bus fell into a ravine at a height of 40 meters with nine people on board, four of whom have not yet been located. Inside the vehicle, only the bodies of three people were found, while another two were in the vicinity of the river and the others are missing.

The General Fire Department arrived in the area and, using ropes and cranes, rescued the driver and the other passengers; however, the relief work was complicated by the increasing current of the river.
