A surprise avalanche of snow in High Wide Power, a Canadian region characterized by having several ski centers, caused the death of at least two young Argentines last Thursday and one of them was identified as Manuel Sáenz. The 37-year-old from La Plata had lived in Chile for a long time and had traveled there on vacation.

Local authorities in Canada reported that the tragic event occurred in an area known as Terminator 2.5 on the outskirts of the Kicking Horse ski center.

A group of five friends was skiing and snowboarding on the mountain. kicking house when an avalanche came off. The event ended with three people covered by snow: Manuel, Geronimo Reginaof Wolves and Joshua Alonsoa young man from Tres Arroyos who was found and rescued.

Manuel Sáenz was a native of City Bell and currently lived in Chile. He received his degree from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the UNLP, according to his social networks, and he was spending vacations in Canada when the unfortunate event that ended his life happened.

Joshua Alonsothe man from Tres Arroy who was rescued told what happened to the local newspaper La Voz del Pueblo: “The six of us were in one part, we jumped in and a very large avalanche 100 meters wide came off and grabbed three of us”said.

The latter is recovering from an operation that was performed on him at a clinic in the city of Calgary, Canada.
