Saturday in Marseille, a doll representing the Prime Minister was identified in the Marseille procession. The secretary general of Renaissance Stéphane Séjourné denounces an “incitement to murder”.

After the football decorated with the head of the Minister of Labour, it is an inflatable doll representing the Prime Minister who aroused the anger of the majority. Saturday, in the Marseille procession of demonstrations against the pension reform, a staging attracted attention.

An inflatable doll, visibly hanging from a gallows, had been placed in the back of a truck. On her face, a photograph of Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne had been applied.

“An incitement to murder”

Relayed on social networks, the approach aroused the anger of the supporters of Emmanuel Macron, already struck by a tweet from the rebellious deputy Thomas Portes posing with a football, on which appeared the head of Olivier Dussopt. He was excluded from the Assembly for 15 days for this tweet.

The MEP and secretary general of Renaissance Stéphane Séjourné denounced an “abject staging” on Twitter, “which is neither more nor less than an incitement to murder”.

“Demonstrating is a fundamental right. By inciting hatred or violence, we weaken it and sully our social pact,” he wrote.

Same severe observation on the side of the Minister of Agriculture Marc Fesneau, who mentioned an act “despicable and pushes-to-crime”. He called on the entire political class not to “minimize” such acts. Renaud Muselier, president of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region and support of Emmanuel Macron, wanted to give his “full support” to the Prime Minister.

Conviction of Aurore Bergé

As for Aurore Bergé, president of the Renaissance deputies in the National Assembly, she indicated on BFMTV this Sunday that she had exchanged with Élisabeth Borne on this staging. “Anything that means an incitement to hatred, to violence, must be banned,” she said.

Always on our antenna, Boris Vallaud, president of the elected socialists at the Palais Bourbon, assured that he demanded “calm”. “It’s not my way of doing it,” he assured, commenting on the images of the Marseille procession. As for Agnès Evren, vice-president of the Republicans, she castigated images “of incredible violence”.

“Even if it is symbolic, it is unacceptable”.

Asked by BFMTV on Saturday about this representation of the Prime Minister, Olivier Matéu, secretary of the departmental union CGT Bouches-du-Rhône, estimated that “when you don’t want your head on a doll or on a ball, you don’t do no politics”.
