A motorcyclist left the road with his machine on Monday and fell so badly that he died in the hospital.

A 58-year-old motorcyclist from Recklinghausen fell badly in a single-vehicle accident on Monday, February 13. He was flown to an accident hospital in a rescue helicopter, where he later died.

According to the Recklinghausen police, the motorcyclist was on the Ahornstraße in the Grullbad district of Recklinghausen at around 1:45 p.m. According to the information, he lost control of his motorcycle, came off the road and fell. When the rescue workers arrived, the 58-year-old was not responsive, it is said.

Flown to the hospital in a rescue helicopter

Due to the severity of the injuries, the Recklinghausen man was flown to an accident hospital in Dortmund with a rescue helicopter. Only the death of the 58-year-old could be determined there in the late afternoon.

The police accident investigation team began investigations at the scene of the accident in Recklinghausen. Police say another vehicle was not involved in the accident. (red)
