Predator Helios 16 and Predator Helios 18 notebooks

The brand new Predator Helios 16 (PH16-71) and Predator Helios 18 (PH18-71) notebooks complement Acer’s most powerful gaming notebook series with new high-end models. With a completely new design and improved thermals, both devices feature 13th Gen Intel® Core(TM) i9¹ or i7 HX processors paired with up to an NVIDIA® GeForce RTX(TM) 4080 notebook GPU (MGP up to 165W) and a A wealth of premium gaming features.

The new 13th generation Intel® Core(TM) processors go beyond the usual performance. The faster performance cores of the Raptor-Lake generation and the hybrid design enable ultra-efficient multitasking and immersive entertainment while playing your favorite games without interruptions. The new NVIDIA® GeForce RTX(TM) 40 series uses NVIDIA’s Ada Lovelace architecture, which represents a significant improvement in terms of performance and AI-powered graphics. Users experience lifelike virtual worlds, increased performance with ray tracing, high-quality images thanks to NVIDIA’s upscaling technology DLSS 3 and benefit from optimized system latency through Reflex in competitions. Finally, up to 32 GB of DDR5-4800 MHz RAM and up to two TB of PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD make the Predator models impressive portable powerhouses, ideal for the most demanding AAA games.

The two models show particular innovative strength with their numerous display options: The Predator Helios 16 offers a 40.64 cm (16 inch) (16:10) WQXGA (2,560 x 1,600) display with 165 Hz or 240 Hz, while the Predator Helios 18 has a 45.72 cm (18″) display (16:10) with the following options: WUXGA (1920 x 1200) with 165 Hz and WQXGA (2560 x 1600) with 165 Hz or 240 Hz. The immersive 18 inch panel offers portable gaming on a larger scale and is ideal for use with multiple monitors, displaying in-game action with great clarity and detail. Both notebooks are alternatively available as mini LED² panels with a refresh rate of 250 Hz and thus prove their innovative strength in this area. The mini LED panel supports over 1,000 nits of peak brightness with a high contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 and 100 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color space for rich, vivid colors. AUO’s super-fast mini LED display achieves an ambient contrast ratio three times higher than conventional displays and has 1,000 local dimming zones to ensure complete freedom of use even in low light conditions. The higher resolutions and fast refresh rates bring fast image sequences to the screen and thus minimize ghosting and tearing effects.

To keep the powerful new components cool, the new Predator notebooks feature improved thermal solutions with two specially designed 5th generation AeroBlade(TM) 3D metal fans and vector heat pipes in the shape of rectangles for improved heat transfer. In addition, the advanced thermal performance is complemented by the better heat conduction of liquid metal thermal paste.

All this powerful engineering is housed in a new design of the Helios series, which features a modern matte black body with clean edges and narrow bezels. Multiple ports are located on the back of the notebook with a customizable RGB light bar that runs above the rear vents – this positioning greatly simplifies desktop operation. The new design is complemented by a mini LED backlit keyboard with 1.8mm key travel and anti-ghosting N-Key rollover. The per-key RGB backlight has been redesigned to offer bright, even colors (with less emissions) and soft, dynamic lighting effects that use less power and efficiently dissipate heat thanks to a specially designed backlight module. The new mode button enables instant mode switching for improved gaming performance, while the PredatorSense button allows for quick app opening. Users can also use PredatorSense to enable Predator Pulsar lighting to customize each key’s RGB backlighting. In addition, Acer’s Gaming Control Center PredatorSense has been updated to version 4.0 and enhanced with the new Scenario Manager feature, which allows the creation of personal profiles for different gaming setups.

The Predator notebooks are equipped with the Intel® Killer(TM) E2600 Ethernet Controller and support the Intel® Killer(TM) Wi-Fi 6E AX1675 frequency band for enough bandwidth when gaming. The gaming notebooks cover a wide range of peripherals with USB 3.2 Gen2 ports, including an HDMI 2.1, two USB Type-C Thunderbolt(TM) 4 and a Micro SD(TM) card reader. The Predator Helios 16 and Predator Helios 18 notebooks also include a month-long Xbox Game Pass or PC Game Pass, providing access to hundreds of high-quality PC games.

Predator X45 & X27U Gaming Monitors

Acer’s latest gaming monitors, the Predator X45 and Predator X27U, feature OLED panels with impressive performance that will delight even hardcore gamers. The 114.3 cm (45″) UWQHD (3440 x 1440) monitor Predator X45 is a curved monitor with an 800R curvature and an ultra-thin frame that expands the field of view. It also supports 98.5 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut for realistic images. Equipped with DisplayPort 1.4 and two HDMI 2.0 ports, it supports both PCs and consoles and is also TÜV Rheinland EyeSafe® certified. The Predator X45’s OLED panel with HDR10 and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits offers excellent contrast for detailed images, while the UGR<22 rating enables glare-free gaming in bright environments. An adjustable metal stand with a slim but sturdy design keeps the large monitor stable while gaming.

The Predator X27U’s flat 68.58 cm (27″) WQHD panel (2560 x 1440) with 98.5 percent DCI-P3 coverage is ideal for professional gamers who are looking for a reliable and powerful device for everyday use. The TÜV Rheinland EyeSafe-certified monitor offers a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and HDR10 certification, delivering amazingly lifelike graphics.

Both the Predator X45 and Predator X27U feature a 240Hz refresh rate and a pixel response time of up to 0.01ms combined with AMD FreeSync(TM) Premium technology that enables screen-tear-free gameplay. They also feature a KVM switch that allows effortless switching between desktops and notebooks without having to switch keyboards and mice. In addition, both Predator monitors are equipped with a USB Type-C connection, which can be used to charge notebooks with up to 90 W, for example. Thus, a scenario would be conceivable in which a gaming device is connected via the HDMI/DP port and another notebook via the USB Type-C connection.
