Florida authorities have issued an Amber Alert for a 12-year-old boy believed to have been abducted by his father.
Leon Scarborougha resident of Fort Pierce, a city located in Santa Lucia County, has been missing since Thursday.
According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, an Amber Alert was issued this Friday morning for a child who is listed as “endangered” and missing.
Leon is five feet, six inches tall and weighs around 130 pounds. He has blonde hair and blue eyes. As a distinguishing mark he has a mole on his left shoulder, and wears a large silver chain around his neck.
He was last seen Thursday in the 6500 block of Nuevo Lagos. The location is in the community of Spanish Lakes Fairways, just east of Interstate 95 and north of Indrio Road in the Lakewood Park area of northern Santa Lucia County.
He was wearing a dark-colored shirt, dark-colored shorts, and yellow crocs.
According to the county Sheriff’s Office, the child may be with his father, named Tracey Scarborough54, of Indian River County.
Scarborough is six feet tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He is bald and has hazel eyes.
The police have not clarified who last saw the boy, and why it is believed that he could be with his father.
The officials warned the population that if they see them, do not approach, but call 911.
