Actor Carlo Costanzia, son of Mar Flores, sentenced to 21 months in prison

The Provincial Court of Malaga has condemned actor Carlo Costanzia, son of ex-model Mar Flores, to twenty-one months in prison for a crime of continued fraud through a high-end car sales business. His partner, Roberto, has also received the same prison sentence. Both, in addition, will have to pay a fine of 900 euros.

According to the Court, the actor of the Netflix series ToyBoy created a company with “the purchase, sale, import, export and rental of vehicles” as its objective. Costanzia was the sole administrator and owner of the company, while his partner “located clients and vehicles” and offered them “fictitiously”.

The next transaction that has been proven in the opinion of the Provincial Court is that the two “requested money in advance from the injured parties.” Roberto collected part of that money in cash, while Costanzia did it in a bank account. The cars were never received by the buyers despite the constant claims. The sentence states that the convicted persons gave excuses to evade delivery and even sent false photocopies trying to “make it appear that the money had been returned”.

joint compensation

In addition to the fine of 900 euros, which they will have to pay for five months with a daily fee of six euros, the ruling indicates that Costanzia and Roberto will also have to pay a “joint, joint and several and in equal parts” compensation to five of the people defrauded with amounts between 5,000 and 30,000 euros.

According to Semana magazine, the actor would go to prison despite having received a sentence of less than two years for having a criminal record. Between 2015 and 2021, Carlo Costanzia would have committed several crimes against road safety and one against public order.

The reaction of Mar Flores

The actor’s mother, who settled the matter a few months ago after the interpreter published a statement on his social networks, has spoken publicly in the magazine Hola! once the sentence has been known. “I am a mother, obviously I am devastated by what happened with my oldest son, but I have four more children and I have to carry on, working. We will have to abide by justice, although I firmly believe in the innocence of my son Carlo”, he stated before asking for respect for his family.
