Microsoft hasn’t announced Windows 12 yet – but that doesn’t stop talented concept developers from posting the first images of what Windows 12 could look like. There is now a closer look at wallpapers for the completely renewed Windows 12 desktop.

We recently presented you with a concept by Kamer Kaan Avdan (you can find the video at the end of this post). Windows 95, Windows XP, Windows 7 concepts worth seeing and some pictures for Windows 12 come from him. Now he has released a new video that deals with the desktop.

While the first concept already showed collections in the file explorer, the ability to multitask with split screen in the window and a redesigned taskbar, now the focus is on adaptive wallpaper backgrounds that adapt to user widgets:

Avdan now shows this idea in action. Whether there are already leaks is unknown. So far it has been surprisingly quiet about the development of a Windows 11 successor. Microsoft could definitely cut a slice of the designer’s wealth of ideas and concentrate on the optics for the upcoming operating system.

Informative, individual background

In the concept video, the key is how easy it could be (drag-and-drop) to customize an informative desktop background.

What do you already know about Windows 12?

Microsoft rumored to have started working on Windows 12 in March 2022. There is no information about the changes yet.

If the rumors are confirmed, it remains to be seen when Windows 12 will start. The time between the launch of Windows 10 and that of Windows 11 was six years. Perhaps we’ll learn more about Microsoft’s plans in the coming months.
