CAROL Vorderman has revealed a secret connection to Taskmaster’s Alex Horne ahead of her debut on the show.
Carol, 62, will take part in the one-off special alongside Sir Mo Farah, Greg James, Amelia Dimoldenberg and Rebecca Lucy Taylor, aka Self Esteem, tonight.

Meanwhile, Taskmaster Greg Davies and his assistant Alex will once again preside over the tasks.
However, Carol revealed she shared a connection with Alex, 44, saying: “I didn’t realize it until I met him – [we] went to the same college.
“Sidney Sussex College at the University of Cambridge, which is a very small college, only takes around 100 students a year, so that’s very important to us.
“He left about 20 years after me. He says he was told that the two most famous people who went to college were Oliver Cromwell and Carol Vorderman!

Carol is extremely excited to be on the hit Channel 4 show as she is such a big fan.
She said: “I love the show. It’s really smart and really stupid all at the same time.
“It’s just very British. It’s just fun, getting really competitive on really stupid stuff. I love it, it’s very funny.”
She also praised Alex, who created the show and provides the majority of tasks for each series and for each festive special.
Carol said: “Alex is amazing, he invented the format and he’s just amazing.
“What kind of brain finds bullshit like that?” I asked him, and he said it was pretty easy to think of them. And I thought ‘No! Some people could sit in a room for a year and not think ten percent of what it comes up with.
“The tasks are fun and smart. They’re limited by what they can use – they have the lab, the living room, and the outdoors, and that’s it.
“And yet, all the fun he finds in this little place. That’s wonderful.”
