Prince Harry’s biography “Reserve” scratches the image of Prince William and Princess Kate. In a recent poll, they are not the most popular royals for the first time.

London – The British opinion research institute regularly asks YouGov the popularity ratings of the royals. So far stood Kate Middleton (41) and Prince William (40) as the heir to the throne, the undisputed leader, but Prince Harry’s scandalous biography (38) seems to have damaged Kate’s and Williams’ image. In the latest survey, both perform worse than ever.

New poll: The current most popular member of the royal family is rarely in the spotlight

On January 10, Prince Harry’s memoirs “Reserve” (“Spare”) were published, interest in the history of the second-born British prince is huge. In numerous interviews, Harry also beats the drum for his work, his family is anything but good. Harry hands out his brother William in particular, but “Reserve” does not paint a positive picture of sister-in-law Kate either, especially Princess Kate’s bad relationship with Harry’s wife Meghan Markle (41) is discussed.

This is not without consequences. William and Kate were knocked off the throne of popularity – by none other than Princess Anne (72)! King Charles’ younger sister (74) is loud YouGov currently the most popular member of the British royal family. The British appreciate Princess Anne’s reliability and diligence, and Prince Harry also has nothing bad to say about Anne in his biography. 72 percent of the Britons surveyed have a positive image of Princess Anne, followed by Prince William with 70 percent and Princess Kate with 68 percent.

Even if Prince William and Princess Kate had to vacate their place at the top of the popularity list, they can still look forward to decent values. Prince Harry, on the other hand, is in a nosedive of sympathy for the publication of his memoirs by the British. Only 24 percent of those surveyed have a positive opinion of Harry, Duchess Meghan is two percentage points behind Harry. Only Prince Andrew (62), who fell out of favor due to his involvement in the Jeffrey Epstein (66, † 2019) abuse scandal, ranks behind the royal dropouts.

It was also asked what Prince Harry’s main motivation was for writing his biography. Harry is unlikely to like the result, because 41 percent of his compatriots are of the opinion that Harry wants to earn as much money as possible with “Reserve”. Relegated to second place is the reason that he wants to tell his side of the story.
