Happy New Year to all readers! The first “always on Sundays” for 2023 opens. Today, of course, we are still looking back at the latest news from 2022. But next week the CES 2023 in Las Vegas will start and we will probably be bombarded with a whole flood of news. What are you most interested in? For me personally, it’s the new QD OLED TVs from Samsung and, of course, the new OLED devices from LG.

With regard to the Apple iPads, things shouldn’t really get interesting until around 2024. Then Apple could equip the tablets with OLED displays. At least that should apply to the Pro models, which should also score with diagonals of 11.1 and 13 inches.

Many readers certainly didn’t know: Deutsche Post still offered to send telegrams in 2022. However, after 150 years, this service was discontinued on January 1, 2023, i.e. today. Understandable from an economic point of view, but a little bit of nostalgia is lost.

I would have found it good, but everyone wants to get their own boats dry: ARD and ZDF don’t want to offer a shared media library. In my opinion, there should generally be a central media library for all public broadcasters – that would also save money in a sensible way. But the priorities may be more that everyone wants to emphasize their own status. Private companies, including sky Germany, have to weigh this up more carefully. So they tune in to four channels: E! Entertainment, Junior, NatGeoWild and NatGeo die there.

My report on the Samsung S95B was published here in the blog on Boxing Day. For the most part, I was very excited about the company’s first QD OLED TV. Caschy, on the other hand, took a closer look at the Anker Powerhouse 767, while I also had fun with the Turtle Beach VelocityOne Flightstick and VelocityOne Rudder. If you missed these longer reports, feel free to read them later.

On behalf of the whole team, I wish all readers a great rest of the Sunday and a great start to 2023! For tomorrow I wish you a pleasant start to the new week! Caschy, Benny, Olli, Felix and I would be happy if you continue to look into the blog and maybe even leave a comment or two. In the course of the day there will of course be more articles to read in the blog, despite the hangover mood. As a conclusion, however, the ten most read articles of the last week follow at this point.
