In the middle of the street in Agen, a 41-year-old woman received several stab wounds to the throat and chest. The facts occurred this Sunday around 2 a.m. in front of a cocktail bar located on avenue du Général-de-Gaulle, we learn South West and The Dispatch.

The victim was violently assaulted while she was on the terrace of the bar. The alleged perpetrator, his 55-year-old companion, burst in and stabbed him several times before running away, giving rise to a chase in the surrounding streets. He was finally intercepted by the police, including a BAC crew.

The victim was transported to the Pellegrin hospital in Bordeaux in a condition considered serious, before his state of health stabilized. The alleged perpetrator was admitted to Agen hospital, having, according to initial findings, injured himself in the hand.

The couple turns out to be known to the police services for conflicting relations. Several complaints would have been filed either by one or the other, for acts of violence. The circumstances of the attack remain to be clarified.

According to South West, the public prosecutor, Olivier Naboulet, confirmed that an investigation for attempted assassination had been opened. The alleged perpetrator was released from the hospital at the end of the afternoon and then placed in police custody. He remained silent during his auditions.
