Aid trucks arrive in Gaza as fighting resumes

Nearly one hundred trucks arrive in the Gaza Strip with food, medical supplies and other types of assistance, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.

This Saturday afternoon these vehicles crossed the Rafah crossing, the border between Egypt and Palestine. This comes after the end of a week-long truce for the exchange of hostages.

A Hamas official said there are currently no negotiations and there will be no hostage exchanges until there is a ceasefire in Gaza. For its part, from Israel they indicated that Hamas continues to hold more than 130 people.

Meanwhile, fighting has resumed on both sides, and Israeli forces are expanding their operations further south into Gaza.

The Israeli army reported that it has attacked more than 200 Hamas targets since the truce ended.

Gaza’s Health Ministry says those attacks killed at least 178 people.

In addition to those airstrikes, there was also fighting between Israel and Hezbollah militants, who operated along the northern border between that country and Lebanon.
