Air Jordan: in the footsteps of a legend
Do we still need to introduce Michael Jordan? Considered as “the greatest basketball player of all time”, the athlete’s reputation has long been well established. A true NBA legend, The Last Dance on Netflix has already returned to the exceptional career of Michael Jordan.
More Air takes an interest in the basketball player when he is still only one rookie. Nike’s sports marketing director, Sonny Vaccaro, is looking for his new darling and he is convinced that Michael Jordan will mark the floors. He will have to convince Philip Knight, founder of Nike, to bet everything on the one who is then only an unknown (promising, of course). But he will also have to seduce the athlete and his family in order to sign a capital partnership. Because in the 80s, Michael Jordan was not a fan of Nike. On the contrary, the player prefers its competitors like Adidas and Converse.
If we already know that the contract will finally be signed, it is interesting to see the underside of this legendary contract. Especially since, despite everything, the feature film manages to transmit a certain pressure as to the outcome of this affair.
So whether you’re into basketball, sneakers, or just love biopics, Air should be right up your alley. Especially since the feature film plunges the viewer into the heart of the 80s brilliantly.
