Mexico City.- Alec Baldwin could return to take the lead role in Rust after he was charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of the production’s cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

After the fatal accident in which the 42-year-old woman lost her life and the film’s director was injured in the arm, the cinematographer’s husband, Matthew, filed a lawsuit against the production company for negligence.

The production of Rust would be resumed after the husband of Halyna Hutchins withdrew his lawsuit by reaching an unofficial agreement, for which he would become executive producer of the film.

“I have no interest in participating in recriminations or attribution of blame (to the producers or to Baldwin). We all believe that Halyna’s death was a terrible accident. I am grateful that the producers and the entertainment community have come together to pay tribute to Halyna’s final work,” Matthew said in a statement.

The making of the tape will continue with Alec Baldwin in the leading role and Joel Souza as director, in addition they would have to implement updated security measures, with the prohibition of live ammunition and work weapons, according to a source from The New York Times.

Unlike its original location in New Mexico, it would be planning to shoot on location in California.

Baldwin’s legal team announced that they will fight the charges accusing the actor of involuntary manslaughter, which were announced Thursday by Santa Fe prosecutor Mary Carmack-Altwies and Rust prosecutor Andrea Reeb in an official statement and They will be officially presented at the end of this month.
