Alejandro Gaviria explains what "destructive inaction" against the health sector is

In recent months, the former official has expressed his objections to the health reform, which is expected to continue to be discussed in the next legislature of the Congress of the Republic.

In an interview with EL TIEMPO, Gaviria spoke about this initiative and shared his perspectives on the current state of the health sector.

“These processes are difficult, complicated; they need a search for legitimacy. This process is going wrong in form and substance, ”he said at the time.

From there, Gaviria expressed that there is a “destructive inaction” with the health system. And he added that said system could not stand another year of that “inaction”.
In an interview with EL TIEMPO, the former official explained what he meant by that term.

For the ex-minister, “if what is required is not done, the system begins to crack.” And he concludes: “That’s why I said inaction is a form of destruction“.

On how much he believes that the health sector can bear this inaction, he mentioned that the situation is difficult, since the results of the insurers are not good so far this year.

“Most of the EPS would stop complying with the financial authorization rules next year,” he said.
