In Béja, Tunisia, the “Vaga” Days of Arab Theater took place. In particular, from February 4 to 8. An event which was marked by a new distinction of Algeria in the cultural and artistic sector. And this thanks to a theatrical piece.

Recounting the reality of illegal immigration, the theatrical piece “Leflouka” distinguished itself and won three prizes during this event. In particular, that of the grand prize of this new edition of the “Vaga” Days of Arab Theater. But also, the price of the best text, and that of the best female representation.

Denouncing illegal immigration, the theatrical play “Leflouka” wins three prizes in Tunisia

Written by Seifeddine Bouha and directed by Ahmed Aggoune, “Leflouka” recounts, as its title suggests, the reality of illegal immigration. But also, the story of an Algerian couple, Warda and Ali whose roles are interpreted respectively by Sabrina Krichi and Seifeddine Bouha.

“Leflouka” traces the life of Warda and Ali who are unable to have children, who decide to leave everything behind to cross the Mediterranean to be able to benefit from treatment abroad. Despite numerous attempts, this couple still can’t get the visa, so they decide to risk their lives by opting for a makeshift boat.

The story of Warda and Ali was told with a dramatic and comical approach, in a minimalist and conceptual setting. A theatrical piece that seduced the Tunisian public during the “Vaga” days. Who discovers the character of Warda, a strong woman with a well-deceived character and Ali the selfish and jealous husband.

This theatrical piece distinguished itself during this event organized in Tunisia. In particular by winning the grand prize for this edition and the prize for the best text. As for the talented Sabrina Krichi, the latter managed to win the prize for best female representation, thanks to the interpretation of her role Warda.
