Country singer Zach Bryan expressed his displeasure with the site’s recent hiccups in his new album All My Homies Hate Ticketmaster (All my homies hate Ticketmaster).

The wave of protest vis-à-vis Ticketmaster is gaining momentum. As a reaction to the recent hiccups on the ticketing site, country artist Zach Bryan has announced the release of an album called All My Homies Hate Ticketmaster (All my homies hate Ticketmaster).

On Instagram, the musician accompanied this release with a statement in which he denounces “a massive problem concerning the price of tickets for concerts lately”.

“I have decided to play a limited number of concerts next year, for which I have done everything I can to keep the prices as low as possible and to prove to people that tickets don’t have to cost 450 $ to see a good show,” he adds.

Lack of competition and exorbitant prices

Last November, Ticketmaster came under heavy criticism after a massive fiasco when it opened a pre-sale of tickets for Taylor Swift’s US tour, The Era Tour.

Between bugs, endless queues and prices reaching crazy heights, Ticketmaster ended up canceling the sale “due to extraordinarily high demand on the ticketing systems and an insufficient supply of tickets to meet this demand” .

This mismanagement eventually annoyed some ticketing users to such an extent that around 30 Taylor Swift fans sued Ticketmaster for “fraud, price fixing and violation of antitrust laws”.

The controversy surrounding this ticket sale has also revived criticism of the dominant position of Ticketmaster, a giant in the ticket sales sector. US MPs have notably called for an investigation into the ticket sales business and a committee, supported by the Senate, has organized a hearing on the lack of competition in the ticketing sector.
