Megan Thee Stallion sued for sexual harassment and hostile work environment

LOS ANGELES.- The rapper United States Megan Thee Stallion was sued by her former personal cameraman, who alleges that he was forced to watch her have sex with another woman and work in a hostile environment, according to legal documents filed Tuesday in a tribunal of Los Angeles

Emilio García, who worked for the singer between 2018 and 2023, claims that Stallion forced him to watch her while he had sexual acts with a woman in a moving vehicle in Ibiza, during a tour in Spain in 2022, and that he violated several work regulations, in addition to making fatphobic attacks.

“Emilio should never have been put in the position of having to remain inside a vehicle with her while he had sex with another woman. Inappropriate is an understatement. Exposing employees to this behavior is definitely illegal,” Emilio’s lawyer said in a statement. Garcia, Ron Zambrano.

“Plaintiff was embarrassed, mortified and offended throughout the entire ordeal,” states the lawsuit filed in the Superior Court of the state of California, in the western United States.

“Never comment on what you just saw,” Stallion would have warned him, Garcia said.

Other accusations

The former cameraman also accuses Stallion, 29, whose given name is Megan Pete, of fatphobia and criticizing her eating habits.

“Stallion berated Plaintiff with fat-phobic comments such as ‘Fat bitch,’ ‘Spit out your food,’ and ‘You don’t need to be eating,'” the lawsuit states.

The former cameraman also maintains that he was subjected by the rapper to overwork, improper remuneration and other violations of US labor law, and states that: “such harassment was so serious or widespread that it generated intolerable working conditions.”

“The plaintiff faces increasing anxiety, depression and physical discomfort derived from the toxic work environment due to the trauma of unpaid work,” adds the court document.

With the legal action, García seeks financial compensation for what, he argues, he is owed for his services, in addition to financial restitution for damages and expenses of the judicial process.

“Megan needs to pay our client what he owes her, own up to her behavior and stop this conduct of sexual harassment and attacks on body appearance,” Zambrano said.

Rapper’s posture

Stallion has not responded to AFP requests for information.

His lawyer, Alex Spiro, refuted the allegations, according to Page Six.

“This is a labor complaint for money, without a complaint of sexual harassment and with salacious accusations to try to embarrass her,” Spiro said according to the publication. “We will deal with this in court,” he said.
