AMD defeats Intel, more than 70% of CPU sales are from the red team

Over the past few years, the processors have experienced a remarkable increase in performance and efficiency. In this highly competitive environment, AMD it has proven to be a tough contender, especially when it comes to CPUs. Despite Intel kept a conservative stance by sticking to its 4 cores for several years, AMD has been able to surpass its competitor in sales in 2023although in the field of graphics cards it has not achieved equivalent popularity.

We have to clarify that this only happens in Germany in mindfactory, a well-known etailer in part of Europe. It is not the first time that this has happened in Germany, so surely they are actions of AMD itself and not of the general public.

Today, the choice of an Intel or AMD processor presents itself as a difficult decision. Both manufacturers offer products with very similar performance and price, which on many occasions can make the choice difficult. The latest generations of processors from both brands, the Intel Core 13 and the AMD Ryzen 7000, They provide very good performance both in games and in productivity. Despite the fact that Intel retains a minimal advantage in the field of video games, AMD’s frequent application of discounts manages to tip the scales in its favor.

Like other times this only happened in Germany

As every week, an analysis of the sales of Mindfactory (Germany) was carried out, which provides an insight into how the two leading companies in the industry have fared. Although his figures do not represent the global total of sales, it provides us with a useful reference.

The graph and the numbers provided show that AMD continues to outperform Intel in the German market. The sales figures indicate that AMD has sold 2,411 CPUs compared to Intel’s 815 during the last week of June. This gives AMD almost 75% of all processor sales, a trend that, as can be seen in the graph, has remained constant in recent weeks.

Average price between INTEL and AMD

Regarding AMD CPU sales, the average ticket is 241 euros. For Intel, it is 330 euros. Looking at the gains, AMD took 71.13% of the total (Obvio sold more), while Intel accumulated the remaining 28.87%.

Fortunately for AMD, the company maintains its leadership and, unsurprisingly, the AM4 platform is the best seller. Of the 2,411 AMD CPUs sold, 1,610 belonged to the AM4 platform and the remaining 805 to AM5. This indicates that, despite having more than two years in the market, the older CPUs and their lower price continue to be the go-to choice for PC gamers.

On the other hand, in the case of Intel, an opposite trend is observed. The new platform with the LGA 1700 socket has been much more successful in sales. Of the 815 Intel CPUs sold, 740 belong to this socket, and only 50 units correspond to the LGA 1200.
