American Airlines cuts its losses by parking a 23-year-old Airbus 319 that suffered another engine problem last week. The incident forced him to land in Memphis when he was flying to Phoenix.

This is reportedly not the first time this plane had had to make an emergency landing, Simpleflying reports. The last one occurred on August 16.

The ship, which was flying towards Phoenix. it rose rapidly and dipped to the west over downtown Memphis and had crossed the Mississippi River at 12:44. 16 minutes later, she had reached her cruising altitude of 34,000 feet and was just north of Little Rock, Arkansas.

At 1:01 p.m., just one minute after flying to its cruising altitude, the aircraft turned toward Memphis and descended. It briefly stayed at 17,875 feet as it continued east and then descended again, turning slightly to the south before reaching the Mississippi River again. The aircraft touched down again on runway 36C at 13:34, about 50 minutes after departure.

According to The Aviation Herald, the flight crew received a right engine stall indication during the aircraft’s climb to 33,000 feet. The plane returned, emergency vehicles followed it to the gate and attended the aircraft for inspection.

The ship is almost 23 years old. According to ch-aviation, it made its maiden flight in December 2000 before being delivered to Tempe, Arizona-based America West Airlines a month later. The aircraft flew under the America West brand until the airline merged with US Airways in 2007.

When US Airways was dissolved in 2015, the aircraft began flying under the US brand and received its current livery. It has logged nearly 70,000 flight hours and more than 31,000 flight cycles.

as revealed REPORTUR.usanother company plane suffered a sharp descent on a flight from Miami to Charlotte (“It was terrifying”: panic over a sharp descent of 20,000 feet in 6 minutes on an American Airlines flight).
