AMLO rules out commercial break with the US due to the ban on transgenic corn

“There is no rupture, it is to clearly establish that transgenics are not allowed for human food.”

“And offering that health agencies do an analysis on transgenic corn, they have hired experts, even Nobel Prize winners, but there is still a lot of information against these seeds and the use of agrochemicals in health.”

In the Treasury Room, he considered that there has not been sufficient information on the harmful effects on the health of consumers of foods containing transgenic corn.

In a blunt way, López Obrador pointed out that Mexico has enough white corn productionso it does not require resorting to the transgenic.

“Until now they have been understanding that we must act like this. There is a special situation, we have a good production of white corn, what is sought is that transgenic corn is not used and not mixed, and corn flour is made, ”he said.
