An 83-year-old man died this morning on a farm in the Toledo town of Bargas when a tank with a capacity of one thousand liters of water fell on him. The accident occurred at kilometer 7 of the CM-4003, when the victim was trying to place three tanks of one thousand liters each. Actually, they are old oil tanks for trucks that he had reused to irrigate his garden.

The man had assembled the necessary structure to carry out the operation, but the scaffolding gave way and one of the tanks fell on him and crushed him. This was explained to ABC by a spokeswoman for the 112 emergency service, who received the notice at 11:40. This same source did not know if the tank that fell on top of the victim had water or not.

A wide emergency deployment was activated, which could do nothing for the man’s life. Firefighters from the Toledo Consortium were mobilized, as well as agents of the Civil Guard and the Bargas Local Police. Also a mobile UVI, the local emergency medical team and Civil Protection volunteers from this municipality of about 11,000 inhabitants, located ten kilometers from the capital Toledo.
