The Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, announced this Tuesday night an agreement with the Inter-American Development Bank for US$80 million to finance a new productive development program for micro, small and medium-sized companies.

“This agreement allows us not only to improve the disbursement profile but also to associate the disbursements to where they have to go, which is to the Productive Development portfolio,” said the official, accompanied by representatives of the bank and the head of the Ministry of Development Productive, Ignacio de Mendiguren.

We are signing an additional $80 million contract focused on the productive development of MyPyMES,” said the head of the Economy portfolio, explaining that the disbursement will seek to support development and innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation projects.

The objective of the agreement, according to Massa, is “to move towards a more productive economy, more associated with innovation and more associated with what we call the 4.0 economy.”

The agreement has four components: the first of non-refundable contributions of US$28 million, a second of non-refundable contributions linked to digital transformation -with the objective of creating MyPyMES 4.0-, a third for the Federal Network of Support Services for MyPyMES and a fourth for the contracting of training services for technological improvement, Massa added.

In addition, he announced that he is negotiating with the IDB a loan for producers affected by the effects of the drought. “We are negotiating a series of additional lines, perhaps the most important with the IDB, related to the impact that the drought as a result of climate change is generating in our economy and in the global economy, in addition to the impact that it will have for producers. farmers from all over Argentina,” he said, without specifying the amount.
