Argentine rugby player Iván Nemer was sanctioned by the Federal Court after committing acts of racism.

It was because of the unpleasant gesture against his African colleague Cherif Traorè, to whom he gave a rotten banana for the game of the invisible friend at Christmas.

The decision to sanction the Argentine occurred after the Guinean Cherif Traoré made public that he had received “a rotten banana” as a gift in the well-known “invisible friend” game.

This game was made by the club to which they belong, Benetton Rugby, during the Christmas celebration.

The 24-year-old from Mar del Plata was disqualified until June 30, 2023 by the Rugby Federation of that country after a shameful act of racism.

The sanction was imposed by the Federal Court, following the request for indictment from the Federal Prosecutor and in compliance with the FIR Justice Regulations and World Rugby Rule 18.
