Mexico City.- The thousands of fans of the punk-rock band Sum 41 have a reason to be sad this week, as the members of the Canadian group took to their social networks to announce that they will separate permanently.

The band, famous for hits like “Fatlip” and “In Too Deep,” have seven studio albums in their career. And now, after the eighth one, titled Heaven and Hell, comes out, their breakup will be imminent.

“The band has given us some of the best moments of our lives,” the musicians wrote in a press release. “We are forever grateful to our fans old and new, who have supported us in every way.”

However, there is still a long way to go before they say goodbye to the stage. They explained that in addition to meeting their agreed dates for this year, their idea is to release their new album and, finally, go on one last world tour to celebrate their career.

“For now, we’re excited to see all of you on the road, and we’re looking forward to seeing what the future holds for each of us. Thank you for the last 27 years of Sum 41.”

The band Sum 41, which topped the charts during its debut in 2001 thanks to its hit album All Killer, No Filler, is currently made up of vocalist and frontman Deryck Whibley, and his bandmates Dave Baksh, Jason “Cone” McCaslin, Tom Thacker, and Frank Zummo.
