Among many other things, the initiative that combines the proposals of the deputy Javier Huerta Jurado and the president Andrés Manuel López Obrador talks about empower the Ministry of Public Function (SFP) so that it can contract goods and services.
It is important to mention that until now this was the responsibility of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP).

And it is that it is not just anything. The project affirms that now the SFP will be able to get a hand in international public procurement negotiations, close purchase deals and acquisitions of goods and services, coordinate strategic purchases, lead public procurement policy, etc.

The opposition’s main criticism is that the Ministry of Public Administration cannot be part of the purchases and then act as a judge to monitor them because that could lead to the pig that we are already imagining.
