This is how one of the vehicles involved ended the life of SOSA on Route 36 / EL DIA
Traffic accidents continue to swell in our Region a sad statistic. During the last hours, the number of people killed in road accidents that have occurred so far in 2023 in La Plata, Berisso and Ensenada increased again with a terrible fatal incident that occurred at kilometer 70 of provincial route 36, at the height from the town of Poblet in La Plata.
Based on the reconstruction of the episode carried out by the Police, and to which EL DIA had access, the brutal crash was carried out by two vehicles: a Volkswagen Bora in which the fatal victim was traveling, identified as Iván Jeremías Sosa, 28 years old age – and a Ford Ecosport. It all happened during the early hours of last Sunday.
Although the causes that triggered the accident are unknown, the authorities indicated that the Ford Ecosport truck that was traveling in the direction of La Plata, lost control and collided head-on with a Volkswagen Bora car (which was driven by the fatal victim), which was It was moving in the opposite direction bound for Verónica.
As detailed, the latter vehicle was overturned on the side of the shoulder after the strong impact, so it is believed that Iván Jeremías Sosa died on the spot. The young man was accompanied by another boy identified as Agustín Romero, who remains hospitalized in serious condition at the Alejandro Korn Hospital in Melchor Romero.
Based on the information collected by this newspaper, and according to the account of relatives of the deceased driver, everything indicates that he and his companion returned late in the morning from La Boca, where moments before the fatal accident they were witnessing the game of soccer of his Boca Juniors team, against Racing Club.
It should also be mentioned that as a result of the crash, the other driver, identified as 29-year-old Edemir Pizarro, suffered severe multiple injuries and also had to be transferred to the Melchor Romero hospital. On his part, the four of his companions suffered injuries of varying degrees.
At the scene of the fateful event, Volunteer Firefighters collaborated with the rescue of all the passengers, personnel from the Emergency Medical Care System (SAME) and the Local Police, who were in charge of surveying the area and starting rigorous work.
In the case, classified as culpable homicide and culpable injuries, the 15th police station of Lisandro Olmos intervenes. For these hours, the evolution of the hospitalized people is expected since, at the close of this edition, they had a reserved prognosis, sources indicated.
PAIN MESSAGES
After Sosa’s fatal outcome, family and friends expressed their departure with pain on social networks and left a heartfelt message. “Rest in peace my friend. The people of Boca will remember you and your friends will miss you. Encourage from above and now with your father,” Giustozzi, a neighbor of La Plata known to the victim, wrote on Facebook.
As this newspaper mentioned, the deceased young man was returning from La Bombonera at the time of the brutal crash. Jeremías was a very loved young man, he had a baby and was recognized for his fanaticism by Boca.

VICTIM NUMBER 26 IN THE REGION
According to a survey carried out by this newspaper with police and judicial information, with the death of Jeremías Sosa, the figure for road incidents in the Region has risen to 26 fatalities so far this year.
In this context, and based on official sources, it can be said that in 20% of the cases, the victims were traveling on a motorcycle at the time of losing their lives. Meanwhile, according to the data, on average in the streets and routes of the Region one person dies every 4 days and 13 hours.
